How does the fish scanner work?

Point your camera at a fish and tap the scan button. Fishface sends the photo to iNaturalist's computer vision API, which identifies the species and returns matches with confidence scores.

Does the app work without internet?

Yes — everything except the scanner works fully offline. Your catch log, species database, and stats are all stored locally on your device. The scanner needs a connection to identify fish.

How do I delete my data?

All data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all your data. There are no accounts or cloud backups.

Is Fishface free?

Yes, completely free with no ads, no in-app purchases, and no subscriptions.

Which fish species are included?

Fishface includes all 60 fish species found in Saskatchewan waters, organized across 16 families — from walleye and northern pike to lake sturgeon and brook trout.
