Fishface is a fish species identification and catch logging app designed for Saskatchewan anglers. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.

Data We Access

Camera Photos

• Fishface accesses your device camera to photograph fish for species identification.
• Photos are stored locally on your device only.
• Photos are not uploaded to any server owned or operated by us.

GPS Location

• Fishface accesses your device location to tag catches with GPS coordinates.
• Location data is stored locally on your device only.
• Location data is not transmitted to any server owned or operated by us.

Third-Party Services

iNaturalist API

• When you use the species identification feature, the photo you capture is sent to the iNaturalist API (operated by the California Academy of Sciences and National Geographic Society) for automated species identification.
• iNaturalist processes the image to return species suggestions and confidence scores.
• We do not control how iNaturalist handles images sent to their API. Please refer to the iNaturalist Privacy Policy for details.
• No personal information (name, account details, location) is sent to iNaturalist — only the photo image data.

Data Storage

• All catch data (species, date, location, photos, notes) is stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
• There are no user accounts. You do not need to sign up or log in.
• No data is stored on our servers. We do not operate a backend database for user data.

Analytics, Ads, and Tracking

• Fishface does not collect analytics.
• Fishface does not display advertisements.
• Fishface does not use any tracking frameworks or SDKs.
• Fishface does not share data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all Fishface data at any time by deleting the app from your device.

Children's Privacy

Fishface does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
